Rock the Coast!

Rock the Coast is this big concert thing at MI's Adventure. Last year was the first year and it was pretty sweet with Audio A, Todd Agnew, and the Elms. This year we're gonna have Toby Mac and Building 429. It should be awesome. For just $35 you can go to Michigan's Adventure for Saturday and Sunday, have a lunch, and hear the concert.

You all should come; it'll be a good time.

Clue was a lot of fun on Friday. I got to be a strange DJ that got to do karaoke and stuff.

I worked on my bridge for about 5 or more hours yesterday. I've got an OK base for the flat surface of it, but it's gonna need a lot more work for supports to let it hold more weight.

My mom should be home from the Ladies Retreat soon, so I'll be relieved of babysitting my brother and dad.

Adios.

Of Spaghetti Bridges and Clue games

Have any of you built a bridge made only of spaghetti noodles and Elmer's glue?

I thought not.

This absurd project will be due a week from tomorrow, and all I've done is buy the spaghetti and glue, but I guess I had to start somewhere. I'll let you know how my civil engineering endeavor fares as it rests over a river of marinara while supporting little bow-tie and shell shaped people.

(For those of us who are confused, *coughDallascough*, this bridge is not really being made for a world of spaghetti people, it's just to support weight in my Physics class).

In other, less boring news, Family Clue night at my church is tomorrow, so I'll be donning strange clothing and creating a neurotic personality to help the participants gather information so they may uncover the mystery behind "the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Ed Boddie."

This will be my 4th Clue game, and they are always a lot of fun. In the past, I've been a mechanic, chef, and a neurotic old man who was actually Dr. Boddie. They've all been fun characters, and I'm sure that this time will be no different.

Guess what?

I've gone 5 days straight with no lemonade accidents. I guess it was just a fluke.

Lemonade Out the Nose

On Thursday, during lunch, I experienced a phenomenon like none I've ever experienced: Lemonade squirted out my nose.

To answer the obvious questions, yes, it burned. No, I did not re-drink what spilled out. Yes, I was embarassed, but it was the funniest thing all day.

My friend was reading the ingredients off of the "Pro-Ball" wrapper (Proball is a "High energy donut hole") He started making stuff up like arsenic and nitroglycerin when I lost it.

It's OK, though, every one has to have a moment like this sometime. At least it didn't happen during something like a job interview.

I close with this advice, guardeth thou snout, so that it may be kept pure of all acidic 10% juice drinks.

Until next time,

Sir Lemonade Spouter

I'm just hours away...

...from a 4-day Weekend! The glorious little recess in between Christmas and Spring Break is upon us: Mid-Winter Break.

Two whole days off of learning and taking notes. Sweet.

In other news: I want a new title for my blog, but I'm hard-pressed to come up with anything.

Ideas? Anyone? Bueller...?

Well, gotta go, the school day is starting, and it's time for all of the daydreaming students to walk the halls elated that their break is coming.

2:50 pm, here I come.

I can see the end....

School is moving quickly these days, and the light at the end of the tunnel is visible. I'm a little nervous because so much is going on right now, and everything costs $$$.

I need to raise a lot of money for a "Missions Experience" to Chicago this summer. We'll be working with the homeless and other oppressed people to show them God's love. I really want to go, and not because it's Chicago. I want to push myself outside of my comfort zone and learn what other gifts God has given me to serve others. I think this trip with my youth group will be the pinnacle of my high school growth. Everything, the good and the bad, has been preparing me to practically be used by God in any situation. It's going to be tough getting there, but I'm determined. I'll have to get a job and basically beg relatives that most likely won't be willing to "fork over cash" for something that they don't view as a "real" Missions Trip.

But before any of that, I've got Senior Sneak! My prize for putting up with Dave for 4 years is a trip where I get to spend a non-stop week with him. Just Kidding. We'll have a great time going to who knows where and getting our final nuggets of knowledge from Dave. It's hard to believe how much I've learned in these past 4 years. It's been fun, and I don't want it to end. (Youth group, that is, I'm fine with graduating from High School)

I've also got all of the graduation "stuff" to deal with: Open houses, ceremony, baccalaureate (sp?), visiting relatives from EVERYWHERE, etc. I want to be injected with some sort of drug so that I'll wake up tomorrow with all of this behind me and no memory of it whatsoever. Kinda like anesthesia where you wake up what feels like an instant later, but it's really been two hours and while you were sleeping they cut you open and did all of the not fun stuff.

Well, I gotta go.

Adios.

Back

Sorry for the long break between posts, but I've been rather busy with college-related business. FAFSA forms and other scholarship related stuff abounds my free time.

I've had tons of childish drama to deal with at school, the likes of which I haven't seen since 8th grade.

I'm glad that Dan and Jillian are good friends again. I was worried there for a while. (Not same situation referred to above)

I have to write an English paper on a board game and how it reflects American values. This should be rather interesting. I'm not sure which game to write about, so suggestions are welcome.

I need to have my wisdom teeth removed, but it's really no big deal. I get more X-rays taken a week from Monday.

Can't wait for spring break. I'm going on my youth group senior trip (don't ask where because I don't know).

This summer my youth group is doing a Missions Trip, and I'm excited. I'm also going camping in Canada (Maine would take too long to drive there) with 3 friends.

Well, I gotta go to church. (Not for Ash Wednesday, but just small groups) BTW, what are y'all's views on Lent? I've never done it before, but I can see the benefits. It may be too late to start, unless I give up something I haven't done today.

"I'll be back."
